According to Us

One Husband, One Wife, Five Children and Everything in Between

I love to have a fire in the evenings outside, but it is all about timing. It’s too cold in the winter, and too hot to sit by a fire in the summer (although the smoke helps to keep bugs away). With cool evenings this seems to be the best time of year for a little pit fire outside and marshmallows. First to cut the kindling. It’s hard to find wood this time of year, let alone kindling. It was a great excuse to use the pick axe. Men and their toys.

By the way, that large garbage bag is our tarp covering our lawn mower and things we don’t want to rust away while being stored outside. I promise, we are not hoarders.

J., the lonely boy

It was a great evening, and even after eating an entire bag of marshmallows, no one had a tummy ache.
