May 22, 2010 Ecuador: Day 2- The Equator
Today was a good day for the team. The remaining members will fly in to Quito tonight. To pass the time we went to the equator for some shopping and tourism. Tomorrow we will leave to make the three-hour drive over the Andes Mountains to Santo Domingo and will move in to live with the Naranos community of the Tsachila.
I am excited for our team that is here this year. There are several on the team that are “newbies” to mission trip. It is neat to watch them as they experience Ecuador for the first time with bright eyes and a lot of curiosity. The days ahead will be exciting as we make new and growing friendships with the Tsachila as we study the word of God together.
I am going to include pictures from todays visit around Quito. Please continue to pray for the team that Christ will be glorified and honored and that many will come to a saving understanding of the gospel. Can’t wait to keep you updated of the days ahead. We love you all…
Alan couldn’t wait to eat some Guinea Pig. It tastes like chicken.
This is Mora juice. It’s a berry kind of like a raspberry and a blackberry combined.
We also went and saw another volcano erupted over 2,000 years ago.
