October 31, 2010 My Sweet Treats
We have dressed up in our costumes all weekend. Beginning Thursday, the kids have had many opportunities to dress and collect candy. We have two large bowls as evidence. (My weakness.) Beginning on Thursday the kids went to trick-or-treat decorated halls of a girls dorm where Alan works. The Baby won Prettiest Princess. All the costumes were creative and cute. We had several disappointed kids, but in the end they had a great time.
Three of the kids decided they would dress together as Mario character from the long running Nintendo series. The Oldest had me make her a Toadette. (She is a sort of mushroom character.) The Boy dressed as his favorite brother- Luigi. Sweet T. wanted to go as Princess Peach. The Baby wanted to be her new favorite princess: Rapunzel. (I also made her wig.) I got my ideas for the wig and Toadette hat from FamilyFun.com. The Toadette dress I made with no-sew hemming tape.
We had a blast. Saturday night was the official town’s Trick-or-Treating. Sunday our church hosted a wonderful Trunk-or-Treat event. Now all will settle down and hopefully the candy will last longer than a week.
