According to Us

One Husband, One Wife, Five Children and Everything in Between

Today I’m thankful for health.

I received a call about midmorning today from the Oldest at school. She had a migraine. I immediately went to pick her up. She is resting now in the cave we call the master bedroom.

I think this is the largest bottle of head pain medicine a person can buy. Although almost all of us occasionally are “cursed” with a migraine every now and then, I have great gratitude that this is the only regular ailment that we have. Health is something that can be taken for granted so easily. We don’t have to worry about food allergies, ER runs for asthma, chronic pain, or any illness that is incurable. We live pretty uninteresting lives when it come to our health, and I am so thankful.

I love that when we go to the doctor we can mark “No” to almost every check box they have. We have no family specialist that we need to see, and other than the common communicable disease, we rarely see our Doc.

I guess, in a way, I am even thankful for migraines. I’m thankful that they are the only regular ailment of our family.

Today I’m thankful for health.

28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe.
